Relative to its benefits and available alternative, however, it's a bit pricy for what you get. I bought it mistakenly thinking it was a shaving cream (which Neutrogena does make), and decided to try it.The most important thing about "Razor Defense" (actually defense is the wrong word, since the damage has already been done, but I suppose "Razor Revenge" sounds kind of violent) is that it works. If your face stings because you shaved too quickly, or without enough water or cream on it, or because you should have replaced your electric shaving blades about 6 months ago, you'll enjoy the immediate soothing of this cream. It actually is light, and the fragrance adds a nice touch. However, those sensitive to fragrance might be cautious about this product, the scent may be subtle, but it's definitely there. Hands down, it is the best. It has a cooling effect that will soothe even the most difficult razor burn. If you prefer a cooling product as opposed to something that seems more like an astringent, this product is for you. If you have difficult skin, you need to use better quality products--from pre-shave, to shaving cream, to razor, to post-shave. Unfortunately, the disposables and 99 cent shaving cream will inflict great damage to sensitive skin and should be avoided at all costs. Your face is not the place to scrimp, so buy the best quality product(s) you can afford. I also use the face scrub before shaving, which also is "cooling" vs. "astringent" feeling. I prefer another brand of shaving cream. Also, learn to shave in the shower. Get a shower mirror. You will eventually learn to shave without it. It has an immediate soothing effect on my freshly shaved skin and doesn't leave an oily finish, but simply dries gradually and protects my face for the rest of the day. At first I thought it was a little pricey for a 2.5oz tube, but it only takes a little dime-sized bit to cover my cheeks and under-chin area.
