The products tried were (in order of preference): Williams Lectric Shave, Electric Glide Formula (California North), Afta Pre-electric by Mennen (original), Skin Bracer, Eltron Prep and Kinexium Shave Oil by King-Of-Shaves. I have used an electric shaver for more than 30 years and, for the first time in over 20 years, am trying these pre-electric lotions again after having shaved without these the last 20 years. In general, these all provide a noticeably smoother and less irritating shaving experience. They don't speed up the process, but do allow for a close shave while minimizing the shaver `burn' sensation that follows shaving. I have only been able to find it in a small local home town drug store the last 10 years+/-. When I tried to purchase it last week the product had been discontinued and would no longer carry the product. I ordered it from another company, they also say it had been discontinued. No large stores or drug stores have the product in or around South Alabama. I hope Mennen does not stop selling this pre=shave altogether. Once on, the razor glides quite nicely. Not too greasy (though greasy can be good sometime, eg. 'Williams 'lectric shave'). But the application of it is poor ... the hole in the bottle is too big! The product spills out more (on purpose? for profit?) when you shake-squirt it on your hand/s. On other brands, like Williams, the hole is much smaller, and easier to apply; hence less messy.That flaw aside, I think this is a good value overall. I may write the manufacturer about this!
